Dr. C. Guy Castles, III

M.D., F.A.A.P.

Dr. C. Guy Castles, III, is a second generation pediatrician practicing at the office his father founded. He started practicing in 1991 after his father’s retirement.

Dr. Castles is a graduate of MUSC’s College of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at MUSC Children’s Hospital and is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Castles currently serves on the Board of Trustees at MUSC and previously served on the Board of Trustees at Palmetto Health Richland and has been serving on the MUSC Board of Trustees since 2016. He has been honored for his numerous charitable contributions and dedication to his community with the prestigious Order of the Sliver Crescent. In 2014 and 2016 the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine awarded him the Preceptor of the Year and he has been named The State Newspaper’s Best Pediatrician in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. Dr. Castles and his wife Libby Lee Gannt have six children. Beyond his devotion to family and work, he enjoys a variety of other activities including golf, racquetball, and water sports.
